Africa support update #2!!

Alright, here we are with our 2nd support update for the trip to South Africa. It feels like it's been forever since the last update, but it has only been a month. I want to say thank you to everyone who has joined us so far in supporting this trip either financially or through prayer. We cannot do this without you guys and you are all greatly appreciated. You are having a huge hand in Glorifying God across the globe, and that is exciting. We are thrilled to see what God is going to do in the next 2 months. It is true, we are not going to Africa until June. So why the focus on the next 2 months? Well, most of our support to this point has been through donations from churches that we have played at. Well, during this holiday month, and the month of January, we will not be on the road at all. We are taking a break for the holidays, and then in January we are moving to Springdale, AR (Which will be talked about more in a later blog). So when I say that we are excited to see what God will do in the next 2 months, I mean that we are still trusting that support is going to come. From where you ask? Well, God knows. I want to say, on this update, that as much as I wish we could personally ask for support from all of you, we just can't. So who knows, maybe it will be through people reading this blog, or seeing the facebook page, or by friends who know us. There are thousands of ways God can provide, the exciting part is going to be watching how He does it. I'm sure He is going to blow our minds yet again, the way only He can. So, finally, the update!! As of right now, Tuesday, Dec. 1st 2009, we are excited to have $4,900 in the Africa account! Praise God! So again, to do the breakdown for you, that means we have $35,100 to go, which is awesome. Thank you again to everyone who has donated in the last month!! See you guys later.

Hey, we love to hear from you all, so if you stop by, be sure and leave a comment!

Africa support update #1!!

I'm excited to be posting the first of 8 updates on how the support for Africa is coming along. Remember the goal, $40,000!!!! So here we are on Sunday, November 8th and I am thrilled to let you guys know that we have right now in our Africa account, $3,800!! Praise God!! So to do some simple math for you, that leaves $36,200 to go!! Keep checking back for these quick support updates. I will post a new update at the beginning of every month, which means we have 7 more updates to go until we leave! Please keep praying.

Support for Africa

Hey everyone! I have to start by saying that this is a record for me, to have 2 new posts in 3 days. I don't think I have ever even written 2 posts in a month!! But I told you that I would start posting updates about what God is doing, especially in regards to our trip to South Africa. So here we go.
This mission trip/tour we are going on next June (2010), is 100 percent a support based trip, which simply means we have to pay our own way for the whole trip. As you can probably imagine, it is extremely expensive for a team of 10 people to travel overseas and stay there for a month. On top of that, we are going to be having to ship band merchandise, and some select equipment, which will increase the cost of the trip significantly. Overall, it is looking like the total cost of the trip is going to be at least $40,000. Now, I want to talk about $40,000 for a minute. I think I mentioned on an earlier blog how absolutely scary that number looks to us. This will be by far the most money we have ever had to raise as a ministry. Luckily we serve a God that is far bigger and greater than any amount of money on this earth. We believe that He has called us to be in Africa for this time, so we are firmly believing that He will provide whatever is needed for us to get there. That being said, we are asking for people to help support this trip in one of two ways, or both. First, there is the obvious financial need, so we are asking, trusting, and praying for $40,000. So if you feel led to give financially, your gift will be greatly appreciated, and used for the Kingdom of God. Second, there is the support we need from people who will commit to pray for us on this journey of fund-raising and then making the trip to South Africa. We know that there is much power in prayer, and since we rely on God's strength and power, please pray. We need it.
If you want to make a donation to this trip, please make all checks payable to Chris Allen Band, and mail them to Chris Allen Band

Please write Africa on the memo line. Again, we are extremely grateful for your gifts and prayers.

Africa!!

Hello everyone! I know it has been forever since anything has been posted on here, but there are some exciting things going on in the ministry, so I am looking forward to posting updates on here to help you guys keep track of what is going on and what God is doing. We are all very excited about the doors that God is opening for us to be a part of things He is doing across this country, and now also to be a part of what He is doing in other parts of the world. We have been invited to be a part of a team that will be going to South Africa in June of 2010. We will be playing concerts, worship services, doing camps, and training worship leaders there for 4 weeks. This is an incredible opportunity to physically see and be a part of what we preach and sing about, namely, that God is not just the God of America, He is the God of the whole world. Every language, tribe, continent, culture and race belong to Him. He is bigger, and His plan and Glory are more massive than anything we could ever dream. We are so excited to get to just be a small part of what He is doing globally, raising up His church all over the world.
We have never been out of the country together as a band/ministry before, so this is definitely new territory for us all, which we are thankful to God for. I can speak for everyone on our team when I say that we are extremely humbled by opportunities like this because we know, without a doubt, that God does not need us in Africa, or anywhere else for that matter, to accomplish His work. He is God. So we praise Him that He would allow us to, again, just be a part of what He is doing. There is no response except one of humble praise to God!! Please be in prayer for this ministry and this trip to South Africa, and keep checking for updates on Fundraising and prayer support, and of course, to see what else is going on!! Everyone have a great weekend!
