I'm excited to be posting the first of 8 updates on how the support for Africa is coming along. Remember the goal, $40,000!!!! So here we are on Sunday, November 8th and I am thrilled to let you guys know that we have right now in our Africa account, $3,800!! Praise God!! So to do some simple math for you, that leaves $36,200 to go!! Keep checking back for these quick support updates. I will post a new update at the beginning of every month, which means we have 7 more updates to go until we leave! Please keep praying.

Support for Africa

Hey everyone! I have to start by saying that this is a record for me, to have 2 new posts in 3 days. I don't think I have ever even written 2 posts in a month!! But I told you that I would start posting updates about what God is doing, especially in regards to our trip to South Africa. So here we go.
This mission trip/tour we are going on next June (2010), is 100 percent a support based trip, which simply means we have to pay our own way for the whole trip. As you can probably imagine, it is extremely expensive for a team of 10 people to travel overseas and stay there for a month. On top of that, we are going to be having to ship band merchandise, and some select equipment, which will increase the cost of the trip significantly. Overall, it is looking like the total cost of the trip is going to be at least $40,000. Now, I want to talk about $40,000 for a minute. I think I mentioned on an earlier blog how absolutely scary that number looks to us. This will be by far the most money we have ever had to raise as a ministry. Luckily we serve a God that is far bigger and greater than any amount of money on this earth. We believe that He has called us to be in Africa for this time, so we are firmly believing that He will provide whatever is needed for us to get there. That being said, we are asking for people to help support this trip in one of two ways, or both. First, there is the obvious financial need, so we are asking, trusting, and praying for $40,000. So if you feel led to give financially, your gift will be greatly appreciated, and used for the Kingdom of God. Second, there is the support we need from people who will commit to pray for us on this journey of fund-raising and then making the trip to South Africa. We know that there is much power in prayer, and since we rely on God's strength and power, please pray. We need it.
If you want to make a donation to this trip, please make all checks payable to Chris Allen Band, and mail them to Chris Allen Band

Please write Africa on the memo line. Again, we are extremely grateful for your gifts and prayers.

Africa!!

Hello everyone! I know it has been forever since anything has been posted on here, but there are some exciting things going on in the ministry, so I am looking forward to posting updates on here to help you guys keep track of what is going on and what God is doing. We are all very excited about the doors that God is opening for us to be a part of things He is doing across this country, and now also to be a part of what He is doing in other parts of the world. We have been invited to be a part of a team that will be going to South Africa in June of 2010. We will be playing concerts, worship services, doing camps, and training worship leaders there for 4 weeks. This is an incredible opportunity to physically see and be a part of what we preach and sing about, namely, that God is not just the God of America, He is the God of the whole world. Every language, tribe, continent, culture and race belong to Him. He is bigger, and His plan and Glory are more massive than anything we could ever dream. We are so excited to get to just be a small part of what He is doing globally, raising up His church all over the world.
We have never been out of the country together as a band/ministry before, so this is definitely new territory for us all, which we are thankful to God for. I can speak for everyone on our team when I say that we are extremely humbled by opportunities like this because we know, without a doubt, that God does not need us in Africa, or anywhere else for that matter, to accomplish His work. He is God. So we praise Him that He would allow us to, again, just be a part of what He is doing. There is no response except one of humble praise to God!! Please be in prayer for this ministry and this trip to South Africa, and keep checking for updates on Fundraising and prayer support, and of course, to see what else is going on!! Everyone have a great weekend!
