Saturday night at Stonehill College went great!

This is just a short post to update you all on how this past Saturday night went at Stonehill college in Easton, MA. We did a night of worship there with a short message and a Q&A time. I want to thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. There is definitely a strong spiritual warfare going on in the Northeast, especially on college campuses. I want you all to know the night went great! It was a little hectic, as we could not get into the room we were playing in until 8:00 and the event started at 9:00. Trying to get a full band loaded in, set up, get sound-checked, and then have any time for rehearsing is pretty much impossible in an hour. But God is good, and He is so much bigger than any logistical dilemma! I don't like being rushed and feeling not prepared or ready, but it's always amazing to watch God shine through in those times and prove that it is about His power and His spirit moving, not about our ability to perform well or be perfect. And that is exactly what happened. We led worship for about 40 minutes, then we taught out of Ephesians 2:1-10, which is just an amazingly deep, yet simple explanation of the gospel of Jesus. We then took questions that people had written down and did our best to answer and respond to all of them. I really love this time because it helps make the night really relevant to skeptics and non-believers, and for everyone who just has questions they would like explanations for. Some of the questions were "why is Jesus called the Firstborn of Creation, and what does that mean?" "How can you say we are born into sin when the first people (Adam and Eve), started off pure, not sinful?" "There are too many religions out there, how do you know yours is right?" "You say you are saved by faith, how do you know for sure that your faith is good enough?" These were just several of the questions. You see why I love this time because it allows us to address things that they are directly dealing with in there hearts and minds. It was great! There was a smaller turnout than the people hosting the event were hoping for, but we are not worried about that. God is sovereign and knows what He is doing. It was midnight when we were done, so there was not much time to hang around and talk with people, but 1 girl, who is a believer in Jesus, came up to me and just thanked us for being there and said "you don't know how much this helped me tonight, even though I'm a Christian it's really hard to live it out. This has really encouraged me and my group." This is why we do it and this is what we pray for! I'm praying that God will take what happened in her heart and in the hearts of those that were there and fuel a passion and courage to start turning these campuses upside down with the gospel. Thank you for your prayers. Chris Allen

Stonehill College Tonight!

Hey everyone! I want to quickly let you all know of an opportunity to be on a Campus tonight leading worship and lifting up Jesus, and ask you all to pray. Tonight we will be on the campus of Stonehill College in Easton, MA. We have been there once, about a month ago, to do a night of worship that went great. That night we did about 40 minutes of music and our pastor preached a sermon. There was a great turnout and a great response. Tonight they have asked us to come back and do a similar thing, only tonight our pastor can't be there, as He is out of town, so I will be giving the talk, and then we will have a Q&A time for students to be able to ask any questions they want about Christianity. So basically we will have music, the message, Q&A, and then more music. I am very excited about this opportunity because I know that no matter what, Christ will be lifted up for students to see tonight. That being said, I am still asking for prayers. I would love to have an army of prayer warriors tonight going to the throne for these college students, and for me as I lead them by following the Holy Spirit. My prayer for tonight is that the Holy Spirit move in power. I don't want to do anything apart from the spirit of God. The Q&A part can be a little intimidating as well, but again, if the Holy Spirit is moving in power nothing can stop it. That's what we want. So please pray. The event will be from 9 - midnight tonight, Eastern Time. It is at Stonehill College in Easton, MA. This is why we moved to Boston! I'm excited to see what God does tonight. Your prayers are greatly felt and appreciated. I'll post on Sunday or Monday with an update about how the night goes. In Christ, Chris Allen
